La Parva is one the Three Valleys of the Andes resorts. Located only 50 km away from Santiago airport the access to this ski area is almost the same as the one to Valle Nevado and El Colorado. The road splits at the small town of Farellones and after a couple of miles you first get to El Colorado and finally to the small village of La Parva.

The resort is usually related to wealthy Santiago families that own their condos and spend many weekends and holidays here. This is the main reason why weekends at La Parva may get a bit crowded – only a bit as when there are lines waiting time may go to 5-10 minutes at the most.

This really special ski area is located high in the Andes setting its base at 2,670 meters and reaching its highest lift-accessed point at 3,630 meters. As it faces west the views of the mountains and Santiago on a clear day are fantastic.

For some people La Parva may be the best area among the three valleys of the Andes – Valle Nevado, La Parva and El Colorado ski resorts. Terrain here is ample and varied offering runs for all levels and off-piste and backcountry lines that will create pretty strong memories.

Around 70% of the mountain is intermediate-advanced featuring long and wide groomed trails. No wonder why many local ski racing teams train here. Regarding off-piste terrain La Parva offers great fun options right next to the marked trails. Hikes to the classic La Chimenea chute – narrow rocky couloir – or La Parva and Falsa Parva peaks are right there too. If you are willing to earn your turns La Parva will deliver.

As another area in the Central High Andes La Parva has a 4-month season running from mid June to mid October. The beginning of the season in June and early July is the “special deals” time of the year. Snow conditions will be really nice but expect quite low temperatures and frequent snowfalls.

Local holidays take place during the second half of July and chances of crows are higher at that time. The month of August is a superb time to come as it features excellent snow conditions, great weather and not many skiers on the slopes. September is another fantastic month to ski La Parva mixing both powder – early in the month – and spring/corn conditions during the last two weeks and well into October.

Since it was founded La Parva has been about families and condos. There are almost 6000 beds distributed in many condominiums ranging from standard to deluxe ones.
Most of these condos and apartments are owned by local Santiago families who usually spend weekends here. During vacancy time owners offer properties for short-term rentals.

There are no hotels in the area meaning those skiers looking for hotel services will have to stay at Valle Nevado, Farellones or Santiago.

La Parva ski resort is a great destination to spend a couple of days exploring both on and off-piste terrain. Many of our Guided Tours and Specialty Trips include this ski area in their itineraries as the experience here is excellent.

We strongly recommend the Three Valleys of the Andes to skiers and riders looking for a combination of inbounds on and off-piste. Those planning to go for big GS turns will find La Parva probably the best resort in the Andes. Long and wide blue and red groomers will keep them busy for a couple of days.

Also La Parva is a great addition for guests staying in Valle Nevado. The small valleys connecting these two resorts and El Colorado as well are a lot of fun and usually hold excellent snow. La Parva probably is the right starting point for ski touring or day hikes to some of the nearby peaks.
